Artist Statement

Sexual assault and domestic violence is a serious issue in the world today. Currently, 1 in 5 female students will be sexually assaulted while attending college. The series, Victimhood draws attention to the possibility of today’s youth being future victims. Through a photographic negative transfer process onto aluminum, each image features a young girl protesting sexual assault and domestic violence. Tape over the mouth showcases the years of silence to these issues. The overall goal of Victimhood is to bring awareness to these topics and help fight the battle until it’s demise.
